Frances Kavanaugh dies at 93; screenwriter of B-westerns
Frances Kavanaugh, who was raised around ranching, cowboys
and riding horses, wrote more than 30 western scripts for
numerous cowboy stars in the 1940s and ’50s.
Kavanaugh, who was called ‘the Cowgirl of the Typewriter,’ was one of the few women who wrote screenplays for B-westerns in the 1940s and early ’50s.
