Hundreds Attend L.A. Funeral for David Carradine

LOS ANGELES — Hundreds of people, including friends, family and former co-stars, attended a funeral service for actor David Carradine Saturday.


The service was held indoors at the Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, the cemetery adjacent to Griffith Park. The service was invitation only, and security guards stood outside the hall.


The funeral, attended by more than 400 people, lasted for more than two hours. Among the guests were numerous actors, including Michael Madsen, Jane Seymour, Tom Selleck, Frances Fisher, Daryl Hannah, Lucy Liu, Ali Larter, Edward James Olmos, Rob Schneider and James Cromwell.

David Carradine’s family have asked the FBI to investigate his death amid speculation the 72-year-old Kung Fu actor was murdered.


The star was found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok on Thursday and it was initially believed he died from accidental suffocation as part of a sex game gone wrong.


But Carradine’s agent Chuck Binder last night said he believed the Kill Bill star had been murdered.

Actor David Carradine found dead in Bangkok

Actor David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series “Kung Fu” who also had a wide-ranging career in the movies, has been found dead in the Thai capital, Bangkok. A news report said he was found hanged in his hotel room and was believed to have committed suicide.


A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy, Michael Turner, confirmed the death of the 72-year-old actor. He said the embassy was informed by Thai authorities that Carradine died either late Wednesday or early Thursday, but he could not provide further details out of consideration for his family.
